Foursquare finally allows pics & more!
Month’s ago one of the wishes I made was @foursquare to have the ability to post photos like that on @gowalla (Part of my comparison study of LBS apps).
Today the Good news arrived! I can now use a lesser known Android App called PicPlz to tag photos to a venue am at. And it gets better… it also Checks me in to the Venue! How cool is that?

First legit checkin at the North Pole on @foursquare is by a 15 year old Parker Liautaud earning him the LAST DEGREE badge! Awesome… Liautaud used his spring break to attempt to ski to the Last Degree of the North Pole and compete to be the first to check in there. The kitschy Foursquare expedition — documented via Facebook and Twitter — was also for a good cause. Ultimately, Liautaud set out to inspire young people to “build a more sustainable future.”

Who should check-in on @foursquare?
Yes.. the much debated topic comes up as 4SQ CEO announces that they will reach 1 million users soon! Interestingly venues are still to come up with policies as to not let their employees checkin.. hence to cause a Mutiny at some of the most frequented venues in the World.. Read this WSJ Blog.

The innovation with Foursquare social media integration continues and we hear some update or the other everyday! Now following close on the heels of HeatMaps, which showed the areas on Google Map where the 4sq users were more active comes a fantastic app for the Venue owners!
The 4sq tab on facebook now allows you to show a real time check-in history of all members who visit your restaurant/club/center/gym etc. and even post a feed on tips left by the same. What more, the Mayors are featured too! This is an exciting way to add to the whole 4sq and social media experience.. Check out the Facebook Foursquare Widget now!
